How To Write Short Reports To Build Your List, Grow Your Online ...

Writing short reports is a strategy I have used since coming online several years ago. I choose a topic my target audience is interested in learning more about, and then I write three articles on this topic to submit to the article directories. This serves several purposes, including helping me to determine which topics are of the greatest interest to my audience based on how well they perform as an article; giving me the necessary content to move to the next step in this process; and showing me exactly how much I know that I am simply taking for granted.

Based on these initial three articles I am then ready to combine them together into a short report. I look for my own products, as well as affiliate products, to include on a resource page at the end of the report, add some royalty free images, write an introduction and a conclusion, and it's ready to go. An example of this would be a short report I recently created on the topic of list building.

List building is something that people in every niche must think about on a regular basis. Because this topic has such wide appeal my report soon went viral, with people sharing it freely with their own audience. This is what you want to do, even though it won't be a home run every single time. Instead, focus on creating a new short report about once every two weeks to get used to this style of marketing.

Once you have completed your report, share it with as many people as possible. I like to give it away on the 'Big Three' of social media, which includes LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook. I encourage people to share it with others to get the process moving. Then I give it to my list, post it on sites such as Scribd, and use it as a free giveaway on one of my opt in pages.

You may also want to create several short reports and then combine them into a book to see on a stand alone website, on Kindle, or on Amazon. The idea is to share your information in as many ways as possible in order to build your list, attract new prospects, and get people into your marketing funnel.

Writing short reports is an excellent way to connect with your target audience and get your message out to the world.
