At a hearing before the Armed Services Committee, ?Senator Jeff Sessions (R-AL) questioned Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey and Defense Secretary Leon Panetta. They topic was the legal basis for military action. Both indicated that international law would be a legal basis for military action. The constitutional requirement of congressional approval seems to be an afterthought at best. Listen to the exchange and tell me what you think.
